Owning a Vehicle in Thailand

Expats can own vehicles such as car, trucks and motorbikes. However, they can usually can not get financing, so Expats would either have to put the vehicle in a Thai associate’s name or buy the vehicle un full. The fees, taxes and costs to buy a vehicle are very small compared to western standards.
The more important question is, if you’re an Expat that needs a Vehicle.
Unlike Western countries, Thailand has excellent public transportation. Options which are cheap, convenient and meet many Expats daily needs. Driving the big Thai cities has unique challenges you will not experience in western countries, such as small streets, narrow lanes, motorbikes are almost always passing you on the right and left side. GPS systems may not be very helpful in many areas, where the road are labeled in Thai, to name a few of the challenges.Thailand Public transportation consists of, taxi, Grab, Bolt, lineman, Lifts, motorbike taxis, trains, buses, Subways, Sky trains, Airports and more.
